PACKAGES

A’ Tau Safaris specializes in expeditions throughout Northern Botswana, with the exception of Filming Tours and Discover Botswana, which can be customized based on guest preferences. While the following details provide a general outline, arrangements may be adjusted to accommodate guest requests or location availability.

Pick-ups are available from Maun or Kasane Airport, with an option to spend the first night in either Maun or Kasane, allowing for rest after a long journey. This option is highly recommended, as it enables an early morning departure from Maun the following day, incorporating a game drive en route to the tented campsite with a picnic lunch served along the way to the campsite. The duration of camping in each area will be determined by the guest and the travel agent. On the final day, it is advisable to stay within the town of departure or within a 30 km radius of the airport to ensure a smooth departure.

LION TRAILS

Embark on thrilling adventures in search of the king of the jungle across the safari regions of Moremi, Khwai, Savute, and Chobe. While lions can be found throughout Botswana, these magnificent creatures are wild, and early morning expeditions are essential since lions hunt at night and rest during the day. These trips offer the unique opportunity to witness lions hunting or observe a pride in its natural habitat. You may also encounter groups of males, females, and cubs together. Spending three nights camping in each area is ideal to fully experience the wildlife. In Khwai, you can enjoy a traditional mokoro excursion, while the Chobe region offers an optional boat cruise for an additional cost.

LEOPARD TRAILS

This exciting safari adventure requires early morning starts to maximize wildlife sightings. The journey begins in the Khwai area, where guests can either fly in from Maun Airport for an additional cost or drive in with our safari guide. The trip includes exploration of Xaxaba, Moremi, Khwai, Savuti, and Chobe. To fully experience each location and enhance the success of this trail, we recommend spending at least three nights in each area.

ELEPHANT TRAILS

Botswana is renowned for its abundant elephant population, with massive herds roaming various regions. In some areas, you can witness large family groups with their young, while in others, bachelor groups of bulls are more common. This trail is particularly exciting, starting from the Kasane area in Chobe National Park and continuing through Moremi or Savuti and Khwai areas. Spending two nights in each location is sufficient to observe elephants and other wildlife species, though additional days can be arranged if desired.

BUFFALO TRAILS

Buffalos and lions coexist in the same areas, maintaining the natural harmony of predator and prey. Consequently, these trips offer thrilling opportunities to witness predator sightings. Early morning starts are essential to maximize wildlife sightings and enjoy tracking animals, as well as observing the early bird activity of the general game. This safari covers the regions of Moremi, Khwai, Savute, and Chobe National Park. Spending 2 to 3 nights in each area is ideal for experiencing the rich wildlife these regions have to offer.

RHINO TRAILS

It must be noted that rhinos are a very rare sighting, necessitating longer stays in various locations. As endangered species, rhinos are threatened primarily due to the demand for their horns. This trail begins in Kasane, followed by Moremi, Khwai, and the Khama Rhino Sanctuary near Serowe. Spending 3 nights in each area is ideal, with the possibility of an additional night in Maun after visiting the Khama Rhino Sanctuary to enhance your experience.

FILMING TOURS

Botswana offers a diverse array of wildlife across its various regions. Whether these trips are conducted during the wet or dry season, abundant wildlife can be found in any chosen area. Wildlife filming tours are best suited for Parks and Game Reserves, and a filming permit may be required, which our office can arrange. A 16-night itinerary is ideal for capturing extensive footage, though camping days can be adjusted based on the crew's success in meeting their filming goals. These trips often require extended periods spent following particular species to achieve the best results.

SAFARI WEDDINGS

We are redefining the traditional indoor or garden wedding by inviting couples and their families to escape on safari and hold their wedding ceremony in the heart of the wilderness, with the possibility of animals witnessing their union. Couples are welcome to bring their own marriage officiant. Wedding decor may be minimal due to the location, but we will provide all necessary items, including decor, catering, cake, and drinks (up to a certain limit, with additional items available at an extra cost). Please note that loud music cannot be played in the bush.

DISCOVER BOTSWANA

This trip offers extensive coverage of Botswana, from bustling cities to serene villages, through parks and game reserves. The journey begins in Gaborone, the capital city, and proceeds to Serowe, rich in history, with an overnight stay at the Khama Rhino Sanctuary. Alternatively, from Gaborone, guests can travel to the Tuli Block, a wildlife area, then through the mining town of Selibe Phikwe, continuing to Francistown, and onward to Makgadikgadi/Nxai National Park to see Baines Baobabs, with a possible night out on the salt pans (subject to weather conditions). The trip then leads to Maun, from where guests can explore Xaxaba for mokoro trips, followed by visits to Khwai, Moremi, Savute, and Chobe, culminating in a visit to Victoria Falls.
